Direct email marketing (DEM) is a branch of email marketing. The main difference between DEM and email marketing is that in direct marketing when sending emails recipients are specially selected from the list. This selection can be made based on age of potential customers, gender, place they live or their marital status. Messages are often fitted with a mechanisms that will give a feedback to a sender with statistics of an email. Information about if the link provided in a message was entered, number of messages opened or whether a recipient requested a removal from the list. Direct email marketing, in many opinions, is most effective way of advertising out of email marketing. It is especially directed only to most potential customers, and easy to analyse. For example if u want to advertise a hand cream u do not aim it to someone who is twenty years old. According to direct email marketing marketers should first specify the group of people that is predicted to buy a product.
